Buttle Lake Campground - Strathcona Provincial Park Located in the oldest provincial park in British Columbia, Buttle Lake Campground offers 85 vehicle accessible sites nestled in a Douglas fir forest, and some on the lake shore. The site has drinking water hand pumps and pit toilets. There is also a wheelchair accessible group campsite, Driftwood Bay, located next to the lake. Directions Follow Hwy 19 north past Courtenay to Campbell River, take Hwy 28 west, which passes through the park, for 48 km (30 mi) to Buttle Lake.

The park offers a network of hiking trails, salmon hatchery and fishing, and an impressive waterfall. Close by to the camping area is a picnic area with easy trails to the waterfall. Directions The campground is located 3 km (2 mi) north of Campbell River on Hwy 28.

Ralph River Campground - Strathcona Provincial Park This tranquil campground nestled in a Douglas fir forest in the beautiful and rugged Strathcona Park offers 75 vehicle accessible campsites. Directions The campsite is accessed from Buttle Lake (Western Mines) Road, 35 km (22 mi) south of Buttle Lake.

Loveland Bay Provincial Park Campbell River This facility has 31 campsites and 2 group sites on 30 hectares. The fishing at Campbell Lake is renowned, and windsurfing and waterskiing are popular activities. While there are opportunities for swimming, there is no designated area. Directions Located 4 km. west of Campbell River. From Highway #28 take the turnoff to Elk Falls Viewpoint and Loveland Bay. Go over the dam and take first left. Gravel road 12 km to Loveland Bay.
